Our Club

Anyone at Siena, regardless of background, is more than welcome to join the chemistry club. If you would like to be put on the email list of events, please e-mail us with your name, email and general information. Chemistry Club is a great way to build your resume outside of your department. It helps people in the community (Siena and outside) to respect chemistry but not to be afraid of it. If you are interested, just let us know. We would love to have you as a member of the Chem Club.

Bonding Lunches

Our bonding lunches are during free period in the student untion. All chemistry and biochemistry majors should attend. Anyone interested in finding out more about the chemistry and biochemistry department is encouraged to come. You can have a chance to talk to the faculty and students who make up our department, plus there's free pizza! The first bonding lunch for the fall semester will be announced after classes begin.

National Chemistry Day

Each year to celebrate National Chemistry Day, the local ACS Chapter sponsors an event at the New York State Museum in Albany, NY. The Chem Club of Siena college has a table for Hands-on experiments for kids. We run clothing chromatography on painter's caps with water soluble felt tip pens. We have several cool ways to blow up balloons without using your own lungs, and make ice cream using dry ice! Our table is always a big hit with the kids and their parents. Come see us at the museum. Contact us to volunteer to help. We have as much fun as the kids.
