To enhance network security the SoS system administrators, Ken Swarner and Eric Crossman have employed Mac address filtering. Every Wi-Fi enabled device possesses a unique identifier called the physical address or MAC address.
The wireless network in the SoS restricts access to the wireless network to registered (MAC address) devices. In an effort to make registering your device (Laptop, iPhone, PDA, etc.) easier we now have dedicated enrollment times.
It is necessary for you to bring the device you wish to be registered with you.
The requirements for PC configurations are listed below:
- Windows XP or greater (with automatic updates) OR Mac operating system
- Valid and up-to-date anti-virus protection (no trial subscriptions)
