Message from the Emperor of the Physics Club:
The title Emperor is tentative and awaits approval in the Student Senate; as does our status as a "club." Due to a mix-up last year we will not be acknowledged as a Siena club this year, as far as I know. Thus we will be operating on our own costs without any aid from the Senate (which in past years was enough to cover the cost of a 2-liter of Sprite at our meetings, so no enormous loss). To make up for this gap, we hope to do a number of fund-raisers and T-Shirts for the club. All this will need to be approved and hashed out at our meetings.
Currently, there is no schedule to Physics Club meetings. I hope to meet at least once a month with all the physics students to announce our plans and gain support. I hope to meet more often with the officers, which will likely happen every day given our schedules and weekend habits, so that will not be a problem. We hope to pitch a few ideas early in the semester so that we can act on them quickly to avoid last-minute actions.
If anyone has a spot in the Student Senate, or a friend in it, or knows its working, please tell me. We need to get our club status fixed asap.
We hope to have a get together/picnic in September, Dr. Rosenberry suggested the 26th, so everyone can meet up again and the freshmen can get to know their physics peers.
Sorry for the mass message, but I needed to get all that out in one go. I can explain more and with less grammar when the semester starts. I hope to send an email to all physics students to meet up during the first week so we can all get on the same page.
